So what other uses are there for old Bike Parts?

That's a pretty cool fence. I wonder how many people don't even notice what it's made of.

Neat idea. That would fall under the concept of re-use rather than recycling.

They could use them at a bike church.

I had the opportunity to visit one of those places that accepts donated bikes and allows neighbor kids to rebuild for themselves a useable bicycle. Sadly, the majority of the donated bikes were disassembled and sold as scrap metal.

Thats a pity. Some parts are irrecoverable, of course, but I try to encourage people to use this charity (http://www.recyke-y-bike.org/)that's based close to where I live. They recover and refurbish old bike and sell them pretty cheap, as well as running cycling and bike maintenance classes. And some of the bikes they rebuild get donated to developing countries through this crowd. (http://www.re-cycle.org/)

Much better than turning them into fenceposts, imo.
