does any 1 WANNA go away for 3-6 mths starting mar/apr 2003 for 3-6mths of touring? i was thinking of that highest highway in the world. but if that highway doesn't open up (lotsa police patrolling it now due to the afganistan stuff) , we'll go elsewhere?

My best advice is if ya want to go, GO! You'll enjoy yourself just as much, if not more, if you go on your own. I finished a 2 year world tour in 2000, and never regretted going on my own.

You will always hear stories about this-or-that road being closed or difficult due to military activity and or civil unrest. If you are waiting for the world to be a beautiful place you would NEVER go on some roads--the Karakoram Highway is an example, Colombia another. I'll bet you'll do fine! Good luck and godspeed.
