Snafu has been making **** products for about a decade now. I'm utterly confused as to why you'd want to trade out a **** BMX stem for a **** MTB stem.

Your opinion about SNAFU products has been noted. Now, do you have the SNAFU MTB stem I'm looking for? or are you just trying to start ****?

CMcMahon, street rider, you guys spend any real time riding BMX with a Morgan Wade stem? Just wondering as I can't find any reviews that say anything really bad about them? Matter of fact all I find are good to great reviews? I have at least 8 friends that have been useing the Morgan stem for a while now and love them, so right now your words are kinda fading. Don't get me wrong, if you guys don't like the stem thats your opinion and its fine, but please show me some proof of it. I mean come on, just because you say the stem sucks doen't make it true, show me some proof in the form of very bad reviews.

Its Snafu. Their company name says it all.

Once again, your opinions are yours and thats just fine 'cause everybody has one, but can you back it up in any of the ways I mentioned in my last post? If you can't its no big deal, just means both your and CMcMahons opinions on the SNAFU Morgan Wade stem are more or less worthless.

Have I used that stem? No, I can't say I have. Can't say that I know anyone else who runs any Snafu parts, either, due to their horrible reputation. Their tires sucked when I ran them. Their pegs sucked when I ran them. And their pedals sucked, too. So, I'm going to go ahead and continue thinking that their stem's probably garbage, too.

Then you nor anyone you know have ever used the stem? That makes your opinion of it just one persons opinion on a SNAFU stem they never tried. OK, thanks for being honest. BTW, I can't find that " horrible reputation" you speak of in any reviews? do you have any links?

Talk to, I don't know, anyone over the age of 20 that's ridden BMX is the past decade?

I remember a few years when i was desperate for new grips, and my LBS only had a pair of Snafu's. After a few days I put my old ripped/shredded grips back on haha

I have, matter of fact I got this stem from a friend I know for 40 years, he bought one for each of his 4 bikes and got one free, so he gave it to me. He's been riding BMX since before BMX was even heard of, matter of fact I think he still has his Schwinn Scrambler, it was just a Schwinn StingRay frame that the factory done up as a BMX, it may be the first BMX bike made? but I'm not sure thats a fact. Anyways I think he knows just a bit about the sport.

Heres a little info on it along with a pic. (not his bike)

"1975 Schwinn Scrambler
1975 Schwinn catalog: The new Schwinn Scrambler is a specially designed model with heavy duty construction and BMX features built-in. Every frame joint is reinforced with extra welds. The cranks are of hardened steal. The handlebar has a welded on brace and the forged handlebar stem is built to take it. Specialty designed Schwinn BMX tires with an exclusive deep studded tread design for surer grip on varying surfaces. The new Schwinn Scrambler -ideal for off-the-road, and equally at home on the road for those who demand a sturdy, sporty bike."

Dude, you haven't added much to the conversation, I say stop while you think you're ahead.

Well, that explains a lot. I don't think that there are too many people over the age of forty that are going to be putting their bikes through the same sort of abuse that the "Snafu blows donkey balls, and McGoo blows plastic pegs" crowd is.

Well it seems you're to young to have a conversation without trying to insult someone so I guess I'll let you be who you are, but before I go remember this, you showed nothing to prove your negative opinion of the stem. 1- you never had a SNAFU stem on your bike and 2- you know no one that has, again, your negative reaction to it is based on nothing. So I guess you got pissed and replied with this,,"Well, that explains a lot. I don't think that there are too many people over the age of forty that are going to be putting their bikes through the same sort of abuse that the "Snafu blows donkey balls, and McGoo blows plastic pegs" crowd is" You know what happens when someone is at a loss for words due to ignorance? They reply with insults because they have nothing better to say. BTW, your last insult was also wrong as my buddy is in his mid 40s and he can keep up with the best of the local BMX crowd, not that he has too, but just because he can. ;)

I wasn't trying to be insulting. The key phrase in that sentence is "I don't think that there are too many." I ride with a 40-something that does (well, attempts) half-barspin airs on 10' vert quarters.

My negative reaction to that stem is due to past negative experience with their products and their longtime negative reputation amongst riders out here.

OK, I admit I read that wrong, but I'll say this: Most people I know these days will not buy a Toyota, but I own a Rav-4, it never gave me a bit of trouble and love it. ;)

Dude, you haven't added much to the conversation, I say stop while you think you're ahead.

I'm also basing my opinion on their lack of a decent product. I guess I should also add in the time that my friends tire ripped to shreds at the park, on nice smooth concrete and ramps, after only having it on his bike for like two weeks.

Base your opinion on product use, not "All there other **** sucks so I guess their stems suck too." Remeber I'm talking a stem, not a tire. Please try to understand that everything you buy for your bike can fail, but the stem hasn't failed anyone that I know, how 'bout you?

Well, I personally, don't like them because it looks like the VW emblem on the front and everyone knows Lexus is better.

I get where you're coming from, and I understand that you're talking about the stem, but the whole "everything else sucks, that means this does too" goes for a lot, not just bike parts. Thats why I'm making this argument. And yes I do realize that bike parts are supposed to break/fail. I've had plenty of that happen too. I just know that a lot of people who ran Snafu parts had them fail worse or sooner than they should have.

I here you, and I understand what you're saying, but like I mentioned in an earlier post I own a Toyota when everyone I know will not buy one because everyone claims they're dangerous to drive, guess what? drives like a dream and has never given me a problem at all. If I would have listened to people who go by hearsay and have prob never even driven a Toyota I would never have bought one. See what I'm sayin'? ;)

toyota= crap
jdm life!!!!
and as far as stems go a stem is a stem
the only differance is how much they are cut out...
almost all of them are made out of 6061 aluminum, with 1-2 exceptions that are made out of 7075 but those are atleast $20 more that the best 6061 stem...
