Got a scratched, worn alloy seat post that has to endure a lot of abrasion from sliding it in and out of the frame. Originally satin black (it's SDG, I think it's just anodized, dunno if there's any paint on top, probably not), it's now a metalic grey/gunmetal (which would be cool if it wasn't so uneven).
Is there any type of spray paint that'd sit happily on top of whatever the current finish is and even it out? I'm thinking it doesn't matter if it wears away more quickly than would be ideal, what does matter is that it doesn't gum up.

adding paint will change the diameter of the post. this may effect how the post fits in the frame. seatposts are anodized

Yeah, I'm talking a very fine layer just to even out the finish. There's enough play that I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem. I guess the question is whether a fine, sprayed layer would have any durability at all. Though paint it supposed to adhere well to anodized surfaces, I think I read?

Paint will scrape off... just ride it as is, and worry about something else,
