I am brand new in South Beach and am an avid cyclist hoping to meet up with other cyclists in the area. I am going to get into the Everglades Bicycle Club but would also like to get into the cycling community here in a manner that would fit my busy schedule as well as is possible. I am from Vermont and am a commuter/touring cyclist. I do centuries as well. I need sorely to learn how to safely get around this city on a bike. Miami was rated 45th in Bicycling Magazine in regards to being bicycle friendly. However thus far I have never been exposed to anything as unfriendly to cyclists as Miami.
