Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The notched alloy insert (Multi Function System) - this is in lieu of the 'B' adjuster screw - in the rear mech of my 20 year old Athena gruppo has worn round and looks likely to fail in the near future, ie it will not butt up firmly against the dropout lug.
1) Can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement? Campagnolo in Italy just play a dead bat to any requests for info - not even a part number. Thanks Giovanni!
2) Failing this, what would be the best replacement rear mech? It uses downtube shifters, the block is a 7-speed freewheel. Ideally, to maintain the full gruppo, I'd like to replace it like for like if I can.

3 days later ...

At last - found the part I needed at Mercian Cycles. So that's another 20 years of use for my old Peugeot/Campag Athena!

Hi Jacko
I have same problem (well mine broke). Do you have any advice on where to find a replacement ?
Thanks
Steve

I thought about trying to get one made - I have a friend with a milling machine.

Steve,

Ring Mercian Cycles in Derby - that's where I got my replacement.
