wow, that title is funny... ::slaps knee::
whew.

anyhow, my name is JT. i'm just getting into riding, and i'm pretty casual. i have a 5-speed schwinn cruiser that I ride to classes at KU, as well as around town for errands and just plain rides. my bike is noisy, heavy, and aging (i inherited it), but i think it's got charm.

so, um, hello.

K-State? Heh, I can't imagine us beating you (despite the fact that we're doing well so far... apparently), but I'll pass the message along. (Sorry I don't have much built-in aggression, I'm merely a freshmen and came out of high school with little school spirit).

Oh come on your supposed to comeback with a "yeah we're going to beat you into ground." Then I say, "No we're going to kill you." Then I make a bet and I lose it and end up wearing pinks shirts to school for an entire week. Anyway, I hear you guys have some good trails around Lawerance. I am going to try and get up there next week while we're on fall break.

Rock Chalk! Grew up north of Manhatten and had family attend both schools! Have a niece in Lawrence doing law. I have ridden the Levee trail there, a lot of fun! I live about 1 hour away in Liberty, MO. Lawrence is a great place to have a bike. Good trail system for getting around and even mt. biking should it appeal to you. Welcome to the forums, how is freshman year going!!

heh, i don't have any illusions of winning. i may be a freshmen, but i've lived in kansas long enough to know that ku isnt exactly known for football.

i haven't had much of a chance to check out bike trails yet, mostly just been getting to class and occasionally exploring. it is nice though, becuase lawrence is a pretty bike friendly town, seemingly.

Well, I'm living in Lawrence for college right now, but I lived in Wichita for about 10 years before I left. (My early years were spent in California).

Welcome to the forum, jygostjets and hello to the others. From what I remember, Lawrence would be a pretty nice place to bike. I graduated from Kansas State in 1977. In those days our football team wasn't even on the map! I went to high school in Louisburg, south of Kansas City.
