I just bought a new wheel that has a DuraAce 7900 hub.

When coasting instead of making a steady 'zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz' sound as the prawls ratchet around, it's more like 'zzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzz' like one of the prawls isn't making any sound or something.

Other than that the wheel seems fine, it doesn't seem to have any drag out of the ordinary or make any other unusual sounds.

Any idea what the problem is, or if this is common, or something to worry about?

thanks

it's like that with my 7801 hubs.

It's just the freewheel mechanism in the DA hubs. They're not the same found in lower models.
