Hi everybody,

Does anybody know anything about the new 2005 carbon felts? I was looking at the CF2 with dura-ace listed around 2500. Nice components and kewl clear black paint job, but since this is felt's first carbon bike, will it be a risky decision to shell out 2500 for an unproven bike? I was looking at the madone 5.2, but came across the felt. Looks like better components and value, but unsure of the quality. Anybody with any felt experience? Thanks in advance.

Sounda like a great deal for DA 10. I might buy one except somebody was mentioning BB deflection as problem with carbon frames (he mentioned Giant TCR). I would be using 180mm DA cranks on this bike...so BB will take a beating during climbs.

Felt bikes have always been quality so you can bet your money that these new carbons will be made to go. Felt does not make a single low quality bike. Even their cheapest alu frame is still 7005 like their higher end ones.

I really doubt that any manufacturer is going to put something like that out without testing it. Think about it. If they didn't stress test it and it broke injuring someone they could run the risk of losing their company. I dunno if it helps, but I've got a 2004 F50 and it rocks!

What scared me though was somebody in these forums was saying he couldn't stand while pedaling on his Giant TCR because it flexed!!!! That was Giant!! That's a big company....hard to believe they messed up.

Other people have said good things about Felt also.

No experience with their new carbon bikes, but from my experience, felt is a good company. :)

I have a 2004 f65 and I'm very pleased with it!

either your friend weighs 400 lbs and shouldn't be riding a lightweight or he has enough power to outsprint Zabel. Funny how so many people say the TCR is stiff - and you get the occasional individual who can produce so much power they can flex a stiff frame and cranks.

I don't know how these urban legends about carbon strength got out.. but it's a solid bike.
