I have a Fuji Supreme 12 speed bike from the 80s that I am trying to make into a touring bike. I had purchased a fender set made by Eleven81. The fender is named "City Limit Fender" for 700c Hybrid, fits 32-36mm.

I am not able to install the fenders to my satisfaction, anyway they seem to be a bit short in length for being effective. They seem to be clip-ons but I would like to leave them on all the time.

Seems that the parts that go on the brake pivot bolts prevent the use of the curved washers already present on the bike as part of the Dia Compe brakes.

Is there anything I am doing wrong or are these fenders not meant for a bike like this? There are no instructions and a note left on the makers website is ignored.

My advice - for what it's worth, take them back if you can!

Then fit a set of Planet Bike Hardcore Hybrid fenders to it. Pop rivet a 2" X 8" long piece of rubbr roofing material to the bottom of the front mud flap, and you're good to go. I've fit many fenders, and like these the best for fit, finish, installation, and performance. They will fit your Fuji very well.

Why the "hardcore hybrid" and not the "hardcore road"?

the hardcore hybrid will fit wider tires, which you'll likely want for touring applications.

I have some hardcores on my 26" lht, and i like em lots. lemon yellow, ugly, very well-designed. I also run the sks "P" series fenders on other bikes, and i like those alot, too. There are many fenders on the market, and everyone has their preferences, but i'd say that full-coverage is the only way to go.

+1 on all counts. If you're going to leave them on, full-coverage fenders will last longer, rattle less, and generally make life much more bearable.
