My brother and I will be riding bikes form Deer Park to the High Bridge of the Two Hearted River and back on Saturday. We will be drunk and still drinking. He's riding a 1954 Schwinn Corvette and I'm on my Raleigh Twenty........(Ernie never fished the Two Hearted; he fished the Fox but the Two Hearted was more literary) H.G. Wells said something like "everytime I see an adult riding a bicycle I have faith in the human race" I hope it doesn't snow like it did last year.

What a post. I have no idea where all this is taking place.

But I do have an adequate collection of Hemingway.

Given the OP's stated location of "Marquette" I suspect it's here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, not far from Sault St Marie: http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid=Mozilla-search&q=two+hearted+river

We're retracing the steps of Nick Adams.

I've wanted to retrace Jake's steps in France and Spain while noting that the sun also rises... And wander around the moveable feast of Paris.

But right now I am familiarizing myself with Carlos Ruiz Zafon's Barcelona, in preparation... maybe a couple of years hence?

Literature, the bicycle, opera.. splendid combinations!

I sometimes ride like there is a charging bull coming up on my backside.
(Does that count as an insightful post?)
