PRESS RELEASE
Los Angeles, CA. Oct 28, 2003

Spinning Wheel Productions unveiled the trailer for their forth-coming feature-length documentary, “THE QUEST” at the INTERBIKE trade show in Las Vegas this past weekend. The movie (available Dec 8) is an unprecedented “inside look” at life in the professional peloton, accompanying the highly successful Saeco/Cannondale Pro Cycling Team as they compete in one of cycling’s Grand Tours - second only to the Tour de France in popularity – the 2003 Giro d’Italia (Tour of Italy"

Since their website is over a year out of date, I have little faith in this movie actually getting released.

I went to The Daily Peloton website over the winter (as they had reviewed it on their site, at least the preview) and asked early this year what the status was. At that point, they thought it would to come out at the beginning of the Giro early last May. But that did not happen. Then I emailed "The Quest" website thinking I'd get some sort of response, about five times. Never heard from them. Must all be bunk...it's too bad as Cannondale and Phil Liggett have their names prominently placed on the short trailer.
I emailed Cannondale about it and they said they had nothing to do with it. I emailed them back with a link to the site and told them it says "Cannondale Presents" so if you have nothing to do with it, you might want to do something about the banner...

Daily Peloton said that one of the guys involved had some personal tragedy and that was delaying the film...but heck, who'd now buy a DVD of a two year old Giro?

They are obviously maintaining their webspace and somebody's paying for that.

Who knows?

I would. In fact, I have racing films going back to the days of Merckx. Really now, haven't you seen "A Day in Hell" from 1976? Or, "The Impossible Hour" (1974)? Or, "Stars and Water Carriers" (1974)--another Giro film? Or, "Merckx in the Vicinity of a Coffee Cup" (1973), about the 1970 TdF?

Real cycling fans will buy it, just as they still buy those mentioned. So, are you tifosi, or not? Sadly, it appears you are not. :(

Wow...lot's of assumptions from a guy who used to live in my hometown...

Dude...these films you mention? I watched some of these classics LIVE...when they happened.

OK???

BTW, if the demand for old races is so large, why does World Cycling discount them so heavily?

Alas...for you Merckx will be a black and white film.

I saw him race live.

But it still would have gotten much higher sales if released on time

I have these flicks too, but I see no reason to sound all elitist about it. There are enough unfriendly types and people who act "all that" in cycling, we certainly don't need more of it here.

"Stars and Watercarriers" is one of those cycling videos that people (cyclists) either love or hate.

Lastly.... It's "A SUNDAY in Hell", not "A Day In Hell", unless of course that's a sequel of which I've never heard.

Why couldn't you use your credit card? Paypal accepts all the major credit cards.
