Just wanted to make sure we have a winter we can continue to ride our bikes through - so I just picked up my new snow blower. That should keep the snow away!

reminds me last fall there was a guy on the CCRT with a leaf blower. looked like he intended to get all 22+ miles of it!

Steel or carbon fiber?
I'm glad to see you're using your powers for the good of all!
Will it help if I bring my snow shovels down from the garage attic?

Very thoughtful of you.
And it's working already, I just checked the long range forecast here and, no doubt thanks to you, snow seems to be unlikely.
If we get the odd flurry, could I get you and the machine out here? I've got pals in DHL

Steel of course, you know how much I hate CF on those long efforts.
Thanks, man. Just in time too; my wife is worn out from hand shoveling our driveway over the years.

you live in the wrong part of the country... move to the DC area and I will believe you :) I think we had more snow than you this last winter...

Why get rid if the snow----It's great for riding in- Gives you a couple of days extra holiday when you can't get out of the road and it looks pretty.

I got mine back from the shop last Wednesday, permaybehaps it will work for me?
Dammnit, This reminds me. My wife wants me to buy a snow blower this year. I tore a rotator cuff in the spring and she is afraid if I stay at it with the shovel this winter I'll tear it anew.
I keep forgetting to go look at them.
Like overthehill, I cut the grass today. But I also closed to pool down for the winter. It is coming. I guess I should go look at snowblowers.

Cyclinfool,
Did you go for the 10 horsepower model with electric start, cyclops headlight, 4 speed transmission, and lots of knobs and gauges?

I bought an Ariens Compact 24. Would have like to have moved up to the next range models but I have no space to store a larger machine. Basically replacing an old Toro that was about the same size. I have a steep driveway and I must get the snow off or the cars won't go up. Shovels work for snow falls less the 2 feet but when the road plow comes - I can end up with a 4 foot berm.
What's this 'snow' stuff of which you speak?
We've just finished winter and I had to wash the bike a couple of times because it rained. Cripes, I even had to wear leg warmers some mornings.

Bah! I've got a Deere 2305. It's got a 48" 2-stage PTO-driven blower that chucks snow 35 feet. And a blade for those smaller snowfalls.
I should add that I want it to snow. Otherwise my x-c skis get too dusty.

It won't do us any good. Upstate NY is too far away.

Living in southern AZ do not have need for snowshovel/blower or lawn mower.
Waste of time . . .
We ride 13 months out of the year . . .
Sure, lived in NY (Catskills) and Michigan . . . got smart and moved to Tucson area in 1978!

Would it do us a double slam-dunk if I bought a new indoor trainer to mount my bike on? If so, which brand is the best - to assure a perfectly dry and warm winter season?

Cyclinfool - Glad you're near the right coast. Don't stop the left coast snows, we are anticipating an epic "La Nina" ski season.

Well - I too will pray for snow in the mountains, my down hill skis don't like the rocks & stumps. As far as western snow is concerned, as long as Alta has >100' base in March I'll be fine, asking for a 100" storm like I got there last year would be asking for too much.
