Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. You got a problem with it?

Nothing against it, fancy boy white might even be cool, I just don't use it.
I generally buy cable housing in 25' rolls so I get boreing, generic black because it goes with any bike. Last cable housing I bought was Jagwire, kevlar reinforced, ripcord universal housing. It's compressionless so it can be used with either brakes or shifters and is ideal for use with mechanical disc brakes.

Works in the right color combinations.

Only if its on one of my Bikes- Black works best for my colour schemes
For that reasom I have 10metres of Gold outer in the shed. Bought it for £1 at a shop sale. Don't know why I bought it as it is obvious that no-one else wanted it. Never had the guts to put it on a bike.

Way too trendy. One day, TWL, you'll see that traditional conservative values are the best.

Funny you should mention it, because I commuted to the office today (only way I was going to get a ride in) and stopped at a Outsdoorsy and Granola store where I hob-nobbed with the really hot outdoorsy ladies about all those "damn right-wingers" who were trying to run me off the road today (someone did try to run me off, but it was a Prius with a "Yarmuth!" bumper sticker on it) and they bought it because I was wearing a wool jersey and have a beard and wire-rim glasses.
But that's all for another day.

I changed the handlebar tape from black to red last year. Now I have a white saddle that I think I'm going to keep. So I'm going to get white handlebar tape for my bike for its Xmas present. The housing has never been changed and its almost four years old so I'm thinking about getting white cable housing, too.
But I'm afraid it would mess with my professorial granola crunching image.
But I think it would look cool.

I have no issues with white, or any other color cable, says the man with purple shifter cables and black brake cables.

That'll be sorta' stylish but, to really do it, you need some white tires.
That'll protect you from Prius drivers too because they'll think that you're one of them.
You mean like this?
Yes, they are too long in this picture -- I have since cut 10cm off of each.

After putting on my designer hat...agree with the white saddle & tape...would stick with the black housing..it will nicely accent the red & white.

I'm pretty sure dirty white cables would make me feel dirty.
Strong arguments against white cables, I must say.

White jerseys in summer are about the extent of that color for me.
I have a look of black and dark gray in my cycling color scheme for two reasons.
Hiding chain grease and road grime.
Black has a "slimming" effect.

The little bag that came with the Campag brake levers had black cable housing with "Campagnolo" written on it, so that's what I use. Have never thought about cable housing color, figure that's something in the wives'/gf's purview. "Honey, what color housing should I get?" "Oh, I wouldn't be able to live without the heliotrope!"
I do remember somewhere back in the long obscure past, though, that my first really good bike, a Peugeot PX-10, came with this cheap French white cable housing attached to some really grotty Mafac Racer brakes. If you pulled real hard, you could see the plastic housing shrivel over the top of the metal housing wrap. So I guess I have always associated white cable housing with "cheap" and "ineffective."
Sorry!

I have a black bike, with yellow accents and just a touch of silver and have silver cable housings, but wanted to go to yellow, which was way too expensive for cheap me, but the yellow on my bike has faded and white might be OK, but I think I would prefer to go with the yellow instead of the white, but I don't have any problem with white, especially if one keeps one's bike clean which I do pretty well but I'm not a fanatic.

If it works the same as high quality cable...........what's wrong with color coordinating. It drives the roadies nuts.......and that can't in and of itself be a bad thing............:D
Don't forget to wear your orange jersey today.

White would look good, but with your color scheme, can you find some blue ones? Maybe those rednecks would quite messin wit ya.
