Hi i've got a lug set suitable for constructing a carbon fiber frame except i can't seem to find bicycle specific carbon fiber tubing. So i have two questions, does anyone know where i can get such a tubeset, or what type of carbon fiber tubing i should be looking for.

Columbus manufactures and markets its Carbon XLR8R MAX carbon fiber tube set described in theColumbus catalog as "Superlight, high performance carbon fiber tubes for road racing competition frames."

Dedacciai (http://www.dedacciai.net/eng-frame-cycle-technology/bicycle-frame-tubes-carbon.php) also makes CF tubes for bicycles.

Bringheli (http://www.bringheli.com/) is a source for both Columbus and Dedacciai tubing in the U.S.

Any idea if either of these guys have a Canadian distributor?

no one seems to list plain carbon fiber tube sets are part of their catalog, perhaps it's special order only/.

Also i need to find smaller diameter tube for the seat/chain stays smaller than i think i will be able to buy bicycle specific retailers these days. so if i was to use "off the shelf" tubing what type of tensile strength should i be looking for?

Enve composites (formerly Edge composites) in Utah supplies carbon tubes to many of the carbon custom builders. (Crumpton, Parlee and others) I have bought from them and found them great to work with. They do not have "stock" tubing sets, but will be able to make what you need at reasonable cost.
