This may seem silly, I know...
I have a set of Velocity Deep V's in Bright Silver powder coat. They look almost like polished aluminum... Petty nice. I'd like to keep them that way.
The black pads that came stock on the bike were leaving black streaks all over. Most of it would rub out with a bit of automotive brake kleen and some fine steel wool. However, I hated having to do that every so often.
I bought some clear pads on ebay meant for trials riding (and V-Brakes.) They stop like all get out, but squeal horribly. And I feel like I'm going to rip the head tube off the bike whenever I use them.
Cork pads (meant for carbon rims) seem to be a poor solution for various reasons. I'm looking at kool stop salmon pads and similar products.
I know that any brake pad is going to mark the rims to some extent, I'm just hoping to minimize it and keep the deep v's shining with as little cleaning as possible.
Any suggestions?
