Anyone got any ideas to take them out? I wanted to take them out to just clean them a little bit and readjust the straps to the pedals but those guys are just completely stuck in there.... any suggestions to getting them out?

Loooooong nose pliers, but it'll leave some marks.

I've actually tried pliers... theyre THAT stuck....
and I did get these off CL... but it wasn't from a kilo..

I don't know. I would try soaking them in soapy water.

Not sure if that is the wrong thing to do, but do ride around in the rain and can't see how soapy water would be worse. Might make them a little bit slippy.

Or maybe a few drops of olive oil?

But pliers aren't working even a mm at a time? Just keep trying, you will get them out.

That's actually what I meant. Metal expands when heated.

Yes, but not enough to help in this case.

OP - did you try prying them with a screwdriver? This has worked for me with some thick laminated Bindas that would not budge when I tried pulling on them.

Prying them... hmm I haven't tried that... but its really stuck in there and im scared id have to pry them hard to get them out.. damaging the straps wouldnt be too great

TT - true, as aluminum doesn't react to heat as much as other metals do.

JDM - I am baffled. Did the straps somehow grow once they were installed? When considering attacking them with a screwdriver, I'd be more worried about damaging the pedals than the straps.

get a pair of channel lock pliers (with the rounded top) and use it as a lever by grabbing the straps right where they go into the pedal and rotating the pliers upward.

if you don't want them to mark the straps, put a rag between the pliers and the straps.
