Or, coulda been big rascals. I made one of my usual stops along the waterfront today. Somebody had taken all the stones from around the flowerbeds and arranged them like this.

At the entrance to Granvville Island in Vancouver, there's some dude who leaves piles of rocks that are "balanced." Yeah, he spends hours getting rocks to balance on their ends. I'll get a photo next time I'm over there (may be a while since I'm off the bike for the next month!).

Well, I guess you just did. I'm using an 8 speed Sturmey Archer hub, and it needs that chainring to cog ratio to get it down into the low 30s gear inch range. Form follows function ya know.

I wish i have that kinda spare time on my hands. That is pretty cool stuff. I like stacking stuff up. Drives my wife nuts.

People have been placing cairns all around the Adirondacks - some are amazing in that they don't tip over.

Yeah, I see them all along the Trans-Canada from Thunder Bay to North Bay. Every time there's a rock-cut.

I enjoy coming across odd things while I'm riding and wonder who takes the time to do it. Mundane compared to what is pictured above, but the oddest thing I've seen was on a back road last Christmas, when someone put red stickers on all the deer-crossing warning signs, transforming all the pictured deer into "Rudolphs!"

I thought this thread was going to be about riding among foraging squirrels.... a seasonal hazard around here. :)

Yes. I travel the TCan all the time, and you see them everywhere. Sometimes in places that you'd think whoever put them there had to have rock climbing gear.

Very sharp. Now that there is a bar end shifter available for this hub, albeit an aftermarket one, I may take another crack at switching mine to a drop bar config.

There's "Li'l Rascals" living in the cemetery near me. Lots of 'em, in fact. They're called "Raccoons". They're generally out at dusk, after the place is empty.

Well, I first built it up for my son in law to ride in a charity ride. I built it out of an old Sakai frame and a Sram iMotion 9 drive train.

I tried riding it with the drop bars, but it just didn't work out for me, so I switched the handle bar and stem.

When I decided to try out an 8 speed Sturmey Archer, that was the best candidate I had, so it got another re-vamp.
