Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Okay, so this is not bike related, I have had acute lumbar pains for a while (starting around 17yr or so, but it was rare, but as I age becoming more comman), and never when riding or after riding, it happens if I sit improperly in a chair mostly (sluching) or do not pick up a box correctly (not using my knees), the pain only last for a second, but if I aggravate it once, it seem more prone to further aggravation for about 48hr. but I can ride during this time with no pain. The pain is based just to the sides of my spine on both sides, and it feels deep in the muscle. I do not take any medication for it ever, I believe that pain is a good way to judge your bodies limits.
And if it matters I am 26, M, 5'6", 150lbs, played competive soccer for six years (12-18yr.) and before that was soccer and baseball. Started MtBiking at 18 and road at 23yr. and have not MtBiked in over two years. I can reach amost 3" past my toes with straight unlocked knees onced stretched.
So I guess my hopes are that maybe someone on here is a PT or doctor that can give me some direction on if there is any kind of work out that I can do to help strengthen my lumbar region, or if there is something else that I can do, I honestly do not have to money to beable to go to a specialist (I know that would be the best thing)
Thanks for the help

Sounds like you could be cured by teh Pilates.

you don't want medical advice from an internet forum....(much less take it!!)

Go see a doctor.

Check out Pilates for back pain. There are numerous books. That is what you would do with a physical therapist anyway, since it sounds like your back pain is myofibril (muscular).

Go to a doctor if you like, but since it doesn't sound too serious, and the pain is located in the spinal erector muscles... I'd just get a book and start doing Pilates for 5 minutes a day.
