Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Bianchi Strada and Giant Cabriolet

A couple old bikes sitting in the garage for years. They were my father's and sister's bikes, so I don't know much about them. I'm looking to sell them, but I have no idea what they're worth. I cleaned/lubed and made some adjustments so they're both rideable...I'm guessing the Bianchi is maybe mid-late 70's and the Giant is early 90's? The Giant probably doesn't qualify as "vintage" but I figured I'd just start one thread instead of two. Probably would have kept the Bianchi except it's too big for me. Any input on years/price would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The Bianchi is a cool bike for a collector. It might be worth more broken up than sold as a bike. I'd try for $200, should not go below $150. The Giant depends largely on your market, but the spread is not that much, $50 to $75.

+1 The Giant is not anything special, should be able to get around $50 for it. The Bianchi is an interesting bike, +1, maybe $150.

Yeah I don't expect much for that Giant. The Bianchi though...man I wish I was taller so I could keep it! Thanks for the input so far everyone.

I just bought a 1978 blue Bianchi strada today from craigslist for 160. Very very happy about it.

I always wondered what my Bianchi frankenbike was. I think we have an answer.

The serial number, which should be stamped on the collar of the upper headlug, will tell us the year of the Bianchi. The Giant has the pre-1990 logo, so it should be 1988 or 1989.

1972, though your Bianchi, by virtue of the clips for the rear brake cable, appears to be a step or two up from the OP's bicycle which has the cable stops typical of the boom era, entry level models. What's the seat post size and does it have an integral derailleur hanger on the rear dropout?

The drops are stamped flat parts with removable french? hanger (smaller hole bolted from back), the post is (26.4)
