I'm working with an of a Lemond Zurich who isn't quite sure what she has. She doesn't really know how to measure it and I'm trying to talk her through it.

So...to establish frame size on this '01, does she measure from the C crank to top of seat tube or to the intersection of the seat tube and top tube? I know Lemonds are a bit different in this regard.

Thanks much...I hope this turns out to be what I've been looking for.

I have a 55 cm Lemond Zurich and it measures 55 cm center of crank to center of top tube. Frame size is indicated on the BB

Hopefully she can understand what a bottom bracket is. You are going to have to work with dimensions she can provide and accurately from her view tell you how she go them.

I would start by, "turn the bike upside down... the pedal cranks spin in the bottom bracket, there might be some numbers stamped into the paint...

In my experience, clueless sellers cannot master frame measurement. If at all possible, I would either go look at it and measure it yourself, or the worst case, just have the seller measure standover, and if the price is right, take a chance on it. Most sellers can at least measure standover.
