Which model? Condition?
Sounds like a good deal to me regardless. The best riding bike I've ever owned/ridden was a Tecno that I equipped with Record 10s in 1999-2000 ish. The bike was spectacular.

I'd swap out the shimano stuff for era-appropriate Campy if I came across a deal like that.

I love my Tommasini "Prestige" (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/Feature_Bicycles/Feature_Bicycles_Itlay/Tommasini_Prestige/Tommasini_Prestige_1_Introduction.htm) and my guess is that most Tommasini bicycles will be worthy steeds. If the bike is in good shape and a proper fit, I don't think $450.00 is unreasonable. Campy equipped would certainly be more desirable, though.

The bike will offer a very good ride and appreciate in value with the passing of time, assuming that you keep it in good condition. My advice would be to make a counter offer, but pay the price, if you have to.

Yes you should, it's a great bike that is relatively unknown but built very well with excellent ride characteristics. Not sure which Shimano is on the one your looking at but $450 is a good price since the frame alone sells new for over $2200.

Buy it, buy it, buy it!!!

If the bikes fits, and the frame is in good condition, I'd buy her in a heartbeat!

I bought a Sintesi a couple of years ago, stripped the DA components which were in freaky clean condition, and put on a Campy Chorus 10 speed gruppo.

An incredible bike for me at this point.

I am stripping the Chorus this winter and saving all of it for a custom build, but we are putting on an almost complete 2009 Centaur gruppo for next summer's riding season.

I'm sure that will be more than good as well.

The frame alone of the op's bike would be fun to see.

How about a pic for the gawkers out here?
