Perhaps you need to develop an understanding of quality in a vintage bicycle. It is almost impossible to comment on all of the different brands and makes out there. It is not all that difficult to understand the difference between a good quality bicycle and one of lesser quality. That page should get you started on a journey of understanding, about the bike you think you want and what you will actually be most pleased with.

You are asking the equivalent to which girl should I take out. Use your own mind and make the same mistakes we all did. The only way to try a bike is to ride one not look at specifications and pictures. If you ride it you will know its the right one. I guess you could say the same thing for women. Roger

To each his own, for me it'd be the green Peugeot.

A few people have already previously advised you to buy the Panasonic. I'm suprised it's even still available! Considering that bike fit is paramount, I'm sure if you test road it you'd buy it immediately.

I'm also a newb here in C&V...but my friend had a DX4000 ... it was a sweet, fast ride.

No steel wheels/no cottered cranks-Panasonic all the way.(esp with the shimano 600)

+5 on the DX4000, out of the choices AND if it fits.

The Panasonic is the best. If you can service the hubs on the Panasonic without any trouble then it will be a very solid bike.

Depends on the Kind of Riding you're gonna do.

Panasonic if you wanna just go fast

Schwinn Le Tour Luxe if you wanna have racks and fenders and carry stuff.

The first Peugeot is way overpriced.

Some of those bikes are pretty "eh" like the Windsor and both Peugeots.

Fit first.
Panasonic next.

The Panasonic DX4000 is the best by far.

I'm a Peugeot man, myself. That said, don't even think twice: go with the Panasonic!

If you still can't decide after reading this far, you may need a different sport.
