What is the most miles that you have on one bike thanks.

I was just thinking about how many miles I've ridden. I have no idea. There are people that have over a million miles on a bike, they can last a very long time if taken care of.

A million? Really? That's hard to imagine.

My 2006 Bianchi Volpe is my highest mileage bike with just under 12,000. I know, that's nothing. I don't hang on to bikes long enough to rack up any serious miles (always looking for the next shiny pretty thing...). Plus I usually have two or three at a time that I'm spreading my miles over.

1,000,000 miles divided by 100 miles/day = 27.4 years continuous riding resting only on Feb 29th's.
Um, really hard to believe.

1 million is a bit of a stretch. I mean, it's Danny Chew's (http://dannychew.com/) lifelong goal and that guy rides a ton. To do that all on the same bike would be a hell of a feat.

I do agree, though, that you could ride a lot of miles on the same frame if you really wanted to. Many of us probably get the upgrade disease before a replacement is 100% necessary. I know that's what has happened to me in the past.

I've got around 7,500 on my Worksman cruiser and on my Sojourn (which i've had a bit over a year.). I've seen numbers up around 60,000 or so on bikes, don't recall seeing anything much over that.

And I've heard of a couple of people that have over a million miles in, but not on the same bike.

I don't know that they necessarily wear out. Upgradeitis usually sets in, though. And if you put that many miles on a bike, it wouldn't be too surprising if you hadn't wrecked a couple, too.

About 50,000 on my Trek 5200. I have no plans to upgrade. Upgrade to what?

There was a guy in bicycling magazine a few years back that had 1 million miles (all logged). If I remember correctly he also had all the parts he used up too. Danny was bummed I'm sure since that was a title he wanted. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...

I don't keep that close of tabs but I'm probably easily pushing 50,000 miles on my Colnago C-50.

Freedy Hoffman http://miles4melanoma.com/freddiehoffman/ but he hasn't done anything like a million miles on any one bike. Most frames won't last long enough to do that sort of distance, whether from fatigue or crash damage.

it says he's using a Schwinn Voyager, looks like it is of a vintage that he used it for most of those miles. The seat and drive train aren't going to make it that far, but it's possible everything else has. Although wheels don't usually last that long either

He has replaced the Schwinn with a couple of Waterford custom bikes since that article.

Over 30 000 kms per bike on two Nishiki hybrids... the older one is still my winter beater, the newer one developed a frame geometry problem, probably due to a crash, so it went to recycled metal just this past summer (alu frame). It remains to be seen how long the replacement (a GT Traffic) holds up.

Parts replaced: for both Nishikis, pretty much everything except frame, racks, handlebar and seat post. Majority of that mileage is commuting, so there's quite a bit of wear and tear.

Last year I bought what I expect will be the last single bike I buy, a steel Rodriguez track frame with couplers which I've been using as a fixie/single-speed on the road. Between Oct 31 last year when I picked up the frame and Oct 30 this year, I put on over 19,000 km. So far, so good. I am planning to run this bike with an SA S3x 3-speed hub in the 2011 PBP. Prior to that, I've got a Cyclops road frame made of Columbus steel tubing that went over 53,000 km, mostly with a fixed gear. I've also got a carbon fiber Trek I bought in 2000 and used as my racing bike. I have hardly ridden it at all in the past three years, but it's got over 35,000 km on it. And the tandem I bought back in 1980 has over 20,000 recorded km on it.

Thanks what parts have you replaced on the fuji touring.

Wheels, stem, seat (Brooks Pro then B17), crankset (road triple to MTB triple), rear derailleur, rear rack (replaced very quickly with a Topeak).

The handlebars, brakes, seatpost and of course frame and fork are the original (albeit with a repair to the right rear dropout).

I should mention the Tiagra STI shifters are original -- these were the 2000 model, and they have served me very, very well.

The main linkage bolt in the Tiagra triple front derailleur fell out on a long ride about 2004, and the roadside repair with a long bolt and nut courtesy of my riding partner at the time has lasted since.

I just added up the distance I rode during the 7 years I had Machak, before he was stolen. It is a little bit approximate because I don't indicate which bicycle I rode on any particular ride in my log, but I have a pretty good idea what I rode and when.

So ... I rode Machak approx. 59,000 km

My second most ridden bicycle would likely be my old (1980s) Venture department store road bicycle, and I have probably about 31,000 km on that bicycle. I still have that one, and Rowan has converted it to a fixie.

And I've got another approx. 35,000 km divided between a Maruishi, a Cannondale, 2 Giants, a Mongoose, a GT, a Hasa, a tandem, a couple recumbents, and a handful of other bicycles.
