Hey, just doing my daily CL run through and I came across a bike that interested me a little. It didn't look like anything special at first glance but had Campy DT shifters and the hubs also looked like they could be campy. The guy seems doesn't seem to know anything about the bike, he called it a "Avocet Lightweight speed bike" probably because of the saddle (AFAIK Avocet didn't make bikes).

I was hoping someone might be able to recognize it and let me know if it's worth anything. Thanks!

Ignoring the celeste handlebar tape, I'm pretty sure this is a boom era Bianchi. They used that crown and those head lugs with the wide collars. I also believe I can see the serial number impression on the top head lug, which is where Bianchi stamped them during this period. However, from what I can see it's nothing special, possibly a Strada, a Rekord variant at best. Those shifters and front derailleurs are probably OEM and appear to be Camapgnolo Valentino.

I had a '70s something Bianchi Special frameset that used a headset similar to that. I would diagree on the hubs i think they may be Chair or Normandy or lots of others. the flanges seem thin for Campi

+1, they don't appear to Campagnolo. They look like Gnutti, which would be appropriate for the era and level, but it's a bit of a frankenbike, so there's no reason expect the wheels to be OEM.
