Hi all.
Need to replace a Shimano FD 7800 32mm(ish) band on, for a 9 x 2 road bike.
I have 7700 Brifters.
I would like to save some money by buying a cheaper model.

I have spent hours searching and I am completely lost and confused by all the Shimano models.

Can anyone advise on a suitable Shimano model please.

Thanks

Ultegra: FD-6500 (not available in 31.8)
105: FD-5500 or FD-5501
Tiagra: FD-4500
Sora: FD-3400

For each of these you must specify a 31.8mm clamp or get the braze-on model and the SM-AD11 31.8mm clamp adapter.

Basically, ANY Shimano or SRAM road front derailleur should work EXCEPT the latest Dura Ace, Ultegra, or 105 models (7900, 6700, or 5700).
