Classic & Vintage - 80's frames that will fit fenders with tires at least 700/25

Hi, this is a general inquiry for people's experience with putting fenders on 80s road frames – what models that use caliper brakes have you had luck with fitting fenders and tires up to 25mm (any 28m?) Any maunfacturer is fine, although specifically I'm thinking of Miyata, Univega, Trek, Panasonic, etc.

most 80s road bikes can handle fenders fine, i think you will run into problems with the higher level racing frames particularly ones from the later part of the decade due to a lack of the necessary braze-on fender mounts. i have an early 80s ross that originally had 27 inch rims and i fit 700c x 28's fine with fenders.

I've only limited experience, but

Univega Super Special - 25 with fenders easy.
Trek 400T - 28 with fenders no problem.
Pinarello Record - don't even think about it even with 700x18 (edit: actually, if I replaced the fork I could probably run fenders front and back with some 23s.)

Quick way to narrow your possible frames that might work: focus on frames with eyelets on the dropouts.
If the frame has eyelets, chances are it'll handle 28s or even 32's with fenders.
If it doesn't have eyelets, it is probably a "race" bike with tight clearances and max of 23-25.

I have an '87 Trek 330 Elance, and it fits 700 x 32mm tires and fenders fine.
