Commuting - Commuters: What is your job?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, just wanted to see what every commuter's occupation is.
I'm just a student still :)

Assistant Manager of a large video game retail store. I would probably enjoy commuting more if I don't have walk and stand around all day.

Computer programmer, 40 years old, 11 years at the same place, commuted a little (300 miles) last year (crummy bike), bought a new bike this year, 1700 miles so far.
After a few months, people at work stop asking questions. I have gotten some comments again this week, with it being below freezing in the morning. I suspect I'll get more when it snows.

Wow... posting what EVERY commuter does for a living will make for a BIG BOOK.
But hey, I'm game. I am a computer production artist. Don't worry, it's certainly not as glamorous as it sounds. I like to ride to or from work because I sit on my arse all day.

I'm not quite a commuter yet.
If all goes to plan, I'll start this Friday.
Need a new stem and front/rear lights first.
I'm a student. I'm not a moron or anything, I simply was fed up with studying when I was in (our equivalent of the US) high school. So I'm taking care of that now instead.
My classes are 13:00 to 16:00 Tuesdays and Fridays. A few weeks from now, it will be dark when it's time to go home, so I'll need lights by then. The new stem is a must as I'm straining hard with my back and arms now.
Until now, my only choice was the bus, which gets me there either 100 minutes early or 30 minutes late. And going home, I have to wait until 16:25 to get on the bus and then it's another 40 minutes home.
On my bike, I can be there on time, taking just 40 minutes from door to door, and get back home half an hour before the bus...
My commute is (will be...) 13 km (8 miles) each way.
Mechanical Engineer, 45 yrs. old, 33 miles round trip 3-5x per week.
Building and maintaining the bikes is a major part of the fun.

Web Developer at a software company. Can't stand the sitting and the cubicle and screen being my entire world. The biking gives me back the outdoors, the seasons, actual reality.
Computer Security Analyst.

Try viewing people's profiles. It might save a little server band-width. ;)
