How do you do it? Once or twice a week I would ride my bike to work. Never have ridden my bike from work and back home. First, my job requires me to walk and stand all day. When I am done for the day, I am usually somewhat tired. Today I decided to ride back home. The whole day I was worrying about whether or not I am eating enough or having enough energy to ride back home. I am not sure if that would make me more productive at work. It is a great feeling that you longer trapped in a subway after work and worrying about if the train would come in on time. On the bike you pretty much set your own time.

I am a cat 4. On my commute to work, I have the tendency to ride faster. Like today, I literally was racing back home. I try to take my commute as a recovery ride. It does not seem to be working. My main concern is how I can feel fresh at work and still be able to get the training miles by commuting. Round trip is about 35 miles. I use my race bike to commute since that's the only bike I have.

One option might be to take a detour or two on the way home, maybe scope out some extra hills perhaps.
