One of the things I like best about the Midwest is that the weather changes almost instantly. For some, here, they get annoyed not being able to count on certain weather patterns. I love it because it makes me feel free to take on "Mother Nature" with the rain, snow, heat, humidity, etc.

HereNT, when you say warmer...how warm in Minneapolis, what is warm? I thought is was generaly pretty cold there. I can't wait until the next wave of crappy weather. Snow soon......please snow soon!

In an instant? Man, you've never lived in MT have you? Out here everything seems a lot more predictable - everything just pretty much rolls west to east across the state. Most of the time the rain and snow are predicted to within a half hour/hour. Some of the storms change things pretty quick, but those are usually announced the day before. Back in MT, things would pop up out of nowhere, with all the mountains and valleys - fronts combined all the time with no warning. Missoula was in the middle of 5 valleys, so stuff could roll in from any side...

They said on the news that the average was 16 deg F - it looks like NOAA is forcasting 50% higher this winter. I think average snowfall/precip is above 500" in the winter, but I could be wrong about that. It usually doesn't stay on the ground long in the city :)

There's just going to be less days that I truely shock my coworkers this winter...

I'm feeling the same way hereNT. This stuff sucks, although it is nice to still be able to work up a good sweat on the way home and work. I have been waiting all year for the cold to blow into town, for the snow to start falling, and get out on my Nokians, and have icicles hang from my beard, and...
Remember when you were a kid and all you could think of was when would it snow so you could build forts and tobaggon runs, and snowball fights, ski, ice skate?
That's what I feel like.

I love the snow, too. But I'm happy as long as I can ride no matter what the conditions.
