Bicycle Mechanics - 144bcd chainring help

so my bike is a mix and match of parts and i have an ofmega crankset that i want to use. its 144bcd so i need 144bcd chainrings, simple right? except i'd like a 41t[hard to find - i know campy had them back when] and a 50t or 51t that will be compatible with an 8-speed drivetrain...
is there any companies out there making custom chainrings? or am i going to have to find them on ebay or something?

You tell me!, 144/41T are hard to find!
I found this one at an LBS last year after I had them dig through many drawers in their back room (many other bike shop managers just stared back at me after I asked for one and insisted that they did not exist)...

They found it at the bottoam of the last drawer they searched in and they were almost dumbfounded when they realized 144/41T rings do exist as they never knew they had it and it was NOS!
The ring was made by TA Specialites, from France. The one I replaced on my Mavic crank in the pic was also 41T made by Sugino which was already worn out. Really happy to find the French one to better match my Mavic, plus TA handeled the ring bolt chain interface much better than Sugino anyway. Just keep digging around you LBSs and you might also luck out and find a Campy (I've seen a very few for sale at eBay for like a 100 bucks though) or TA 41T ring too, but they might ask for a lot of money. I think I paid like $45 bucks for the TA NOS ring, but it's worth it to me!:thumb:

TA has been good at making odd chainrings , odd tooth counts.

They also machine a 33 tooth chainring for 110 BCD Cranks..

144 BCD is still common for track bikes in both 1/8" and 3/32" chain pitch, FSA, Sugino or Campy have a ring in the size you need and because of the price I would say Sugino then FSA or Campy. There are maybe some others I don't know about but this is what we stock because of the local bike track.

That is not chain pitch. That is chain width. They're both 1 inch pitch.

Be aware that f you use a 41T ring on a 144mm CD arm you may need to file the ends of the spider down a little so the chain seats properly. Ofmega actually machined a little shelf on the inner part of the crank arm for that purpose (they were another supplier of 41T 144mm BCD rings):

thanks for the tip. the cranks im using are ofmega but they do not have the little notch pictured. i suppose i'll have to modify them.
