Bicycle Mechanics - Campy 11 speed rear deraillure adjustment. Kind of weird

Quick question. I have a new 11 speed group on my bike now. I am coming from a well worn Campy 10 speed group. I notice on the new group that the rear shifting is spot on when there is sufficiant tension on the chain (from power output). Although when soft pedalling the system is kind of slow and noisy. Is this just the way the new 11 speed is or is there an adjustment or cable friction issue? BTW it doesnt matter if im going up or down a cog.
Thanks

The most common problem with 10 or 11 speed drivetrains using the new ultrashift levers is cable friction. If you have a cable friction problem, the shifts to smaller cogs may hesitate. The typical response to that would be to reduce the cable tension, but if it's reduced too much, the shifts to larger cogs will not be quick and smooth. That's how the 11 speed drivetrains got the reputation for being finicky. A lot of owners change the cable tension back and forth, trying to fix a friction issue, that can't be fixed with cable tension adjustments.
Some of the common cable installation mistakes include shortening the cable loop at the RD, not cutting the cable ends squarely and using a routing at the bars that has a tight bend. I chose the rear routing for my bike because the short reach bars that I use have a tight bend on the front side of the bar, that's sure to be a problem.
There are some frames that have such restrictive routings that the friction problem may not have a solution.

Besides cable friction problems, hanger alignment and b-tension is also *critical* to rear shift quality. Do not overlook this.
I expect yokozuna to come out with campy compatible cable + housing set that will be superior to the standard campag set soon. Their 7900 serieis compatible kit already blows the stock dura ace kit away by miles.
