Basically, I need a coach, and that sounds like a coach-in-a-can.

Not I. But I do use the Polar 725i, which has similar features. The bigger problem for the self-coached is what to do next, based on where one is now. If I were buying today, I'd get the Polar RS800CX Pro Training Edition. You can then download training plans from Polar. Or get the PC Coach software with the Cycling plan. Or if you want to train with power, the Polar CS600X with power and use Trainingpeaks. I like my 725 and the 800 because, like the T6, it's a watch you can use for running or cross training, not just on the bike.

According to your intro you are 5'8" and 300 pounds.
You need to lose some weight.
A common sense diet and then maybe a coach.
Are you training for a race??
One of those Team In Training that everybody ridicules?
