French or standard threads?
1984, at least in the US, was like the trasitional year when Peugoet started to use more non-French tubing and components in their model line, so there is a chance that your bike might still have French threading and even maybe a Swiss threaded BB (As my 84 PSV has). I would think that if your bike has Vitus tubing, there's a bigger chance that it still has French Tubing. but if it has tubing like Reynolds 501, the British threading is more likely.
