I have been checking in here for the last month so figgered its time to join. Have been a extreamly active poster on a antique tractor forum so those habits will carry over here. I live one mile off a paved road in a not quite flat area of Iowa on my familys farm and live in a 120 year old farm house, alone, well one wooly cat. Tried Ragbri back in 89 but knee pain made me abandon, for my healths sake Im getting back on the bike again to reduce my girth and meet other people.
I have also be active in my astronomy club and have my own observitory in the back yard. Only new bike was a 754 Schwinn bought in 89, own 7 more Schwinns, not so much by choice but just the way it worked out. If there is a next bike it will be lugged steel again. Also like to play around with my etrex GPS. I do almost all my own repairs, seems when I have free time the shops are closed. I have a recumbent half done thats taken 14 years from concept to this time, SWB tetraheidral shape frame adjustable boom, keep thinking I finish it but farming and life keep getting in the way.
Thats it for now.

Welcome to the Forums Kev. Sounds like you keep yourself busy. Several people here have started biking for the same reasons as you described, including myself. But I now have become a total junkie.:) I also post some at a tractor board, 'Yesterday's Tractors', in the Ford Forum. Nothing too antique though, I have a 3000 Ford with a 772 loader.
Hope you enjoy yourself here. It's a great bunch of folks.
