Hi everyone, I recently acquired this bicycle. It was shipped from Italy and looked to have been sitting unused for quite some time, due to general dust and wear.

From the decals I'm guessing this is some kind of promotional joint venture between Colnago and the World Cup. I'm guessing the year of manufacture is 89 or 90, obviously.

Most of the components are generally Shimano SIS (shimano index shifting),
besides the ofmega bio-pace style cranks and the italian flag grips.

As you can see from the pictures it has a wide wheelbase, is a bit of a beater and is real cool.

I'm more curious about the history of the bike than the worth but any input would be appreciated.

not the best example of a Colnago I have ever seen. I would bet it certainly didn't come from the shop in Italy, it has a kickstand plate!!!

Looks a lot like a lower end Giant I had that someone took some liberties with. Decals look homemade. But who knows?

Since I'm getting nothing, I thought I'd add some shots of the sticker to add to the fun. Also, note the straight fork in the previous set of photos.

In 1990, Colnago's ATB was the Master Ibex. It had vertical dropouts, chainstay mounted rear brake and Colnago embossing on the stay caps and fork crown. It looked nothing like this. Based on the super long wheelbase, this looks more like a mid-1980s model. The cantilevers also look from the period. The only thing that is Colnagoesque is the use of straight blades on the uni-crown fork. The seat post size, dropout brand and serial number may provide additional clues to the origin.
