Took my new Felt B16 out on the road today..planned a nice 20 mile ride to get used to the bike since it is my first tri bike, and was uncertain on positioning etc........it was amazing and smooth and was very happy until about the 14th mile were I heard a loud pop.....yes I blew out my rear tire/tube......may have hit a acorn or something similar...of course I was 2.5 mile away from home and had not yet bought a spare and the kit to change the tire...so I walked all the way home with the bike not wanting to bend the rim.....in my bike shoes....i proceeded to destroy the cleat on my bike shoes.....so guess where I will be going tomorrow to buy a spare tire "kit" to keep on my bike and new cleats for my look pedals!!!! But I have to say...the bike rode amazingly and cant wait to get out again!!!!

Roadie & Tri rule #1--always have a patch & CO2 at minimum.
Roadie rule #2--have cleat covers.
Unnumbered roadie rule--be able to laugh at yourself. Good that you're taking this well, just don't let it happen again. Silly things to kill your riding time.

time to get that hydration system and mount the co2 tanks a long with a spare tube....
Lucky you that was the only thing that happened.
