Went up to asheville this weekend, didn't ride c&v but did get in some mtn. biking in pisgah forest. Also went to Hearn's Cylclery downtown, they now sell only used bikes and service. Saw some nice bikes for sale plus some interesting ones hanging about:

I didn't know about the Mellowdrome in Asheville. I live about 10 miles from Charlotte Motor Speedway and road there once in time trials. Have you been to the bike shop museum in Statesville. He has a huge collection of road and mountain bikes. He also has a lot of time trial bike. Ask to go into the attic and see the collection of parts. I have a lot of pictures from there if any one wants to see them.

What's up with THIS bike?!?
It has a 1930's Cyclo Oppy derailleur with shifter AND a Sturmey Archer quadrant shifter!
So this is a gearhub/deralleur combo?
I'm seeing drum brakes on the front... and there is a rear brake cable going to the back...CRAZYTOWN 9 speed! (and 2 bottle generators)

I think you just found the original mountain bike.

Well asheville is in the mountains!
I guess I need to stop in there sometime. I live about 30 miles from there.

Eddy,
I'm very interested in this museum. Do you know the address or name that I can look up? Thanks
Al, he might be referring to first flight bikes.

Firstflight it is. Here are some pictures I took there. I spent over a hour taking pictures.I spent a lot of time taking pictures of his 7/11 Huffys bikes. A customer started to talk to me about the 7/11 team and he had all first hand information about Huffy an178199d Serotta. I ended up buying a Dag Otto,s 1987 7/11 bike from him. He worked for Huffy and kept several broken 7/11 bikes.178198178200

What, no love for the Raleigh DL-1? I'd love to visit Ashville someday, we came close a few years ago.
