I haven't really had a chance to finish fixing mine up, but the short ride I did take on it was very encouraging. Mine is a Nishiki Custom Sport, but there is a lable on it stating that it is handmade by Kuwahara, so I'm assuming that it sort of counts here.

Nishikis were actually made by Kawamura Cycle, not Kuwahara. I have to slow down whenever I see either of those names since the difference is only one single letter and some vowel placement :).

Kuwahara made bikes for the US under various names, including Schwinn, Apolo, and Concord. - I had a couple early eighties Concords, and they were really quite nicely made - and just as nice to ride.
It's no surprise that you are enjoying yours!

What a great photo! (I want a cool looking lake to ride around too!)

Holy R.I.F. Batman,
Ok, now I'm going to have to go out to the barn and take a closer look. I could have sworn it said Kuwahara, but it is a 'script' font, so it wouldn't be too hard to miss
Thanks for pointing that out
