Classic & Vintage - New MKS Touring Pedals and Toe Clips

I received the new MKS Touring Pedals and toe Clips I ordered and gave them a good test ride this weekend, and I love them. These pedals are so comfortable, and the quality is fantastic. I purchased the on Ebay from a absolutly FANTASTIC seller. His prices are very reasonable, and his service is out of this world. His ebay name is (almmh55threesons) if anyone is looking for some small things at a great price and great service. Oh, his ebay store is closed till the 22nd he said he was going on vacation, does not like to have items sell if he can't ship them out right away. Just thought I would pass this along.......

I just re-installed my MKS touring pedals over the weekend and I gotta agree. They are great pedals with or without toe clips.

+1 to loving these things. I was actually stunned with how well they've stood up to any purpose I've put them to - whether on a fixed gear, road, or touring bike.

They're only about 10,000x better than the Lyotards and Suntour Cyclone road pedals I had used before (and that's no understatement).

I agree, I prefer the MKS's for comfort but I have a hard time picking it as the favorite for looks over this:

Just took off the SPD's and went back to the MKS with half clips this weekend. Love them.

I've been running the same pedals for a couple of months now. I read that additional grease should be added to the ball bearings because the factory in Japan puts little to nothing on them. I bought the MKS pedal tool and some Phil Wood grease and did it myself. They really feel amazing (so smooth!) and huge difference from the old pedals I was running.

I've been looking for a new set for a project. I think my mind is now made...

+1. I was using these on my commuter (though have since switched back to non-clip platform pedals), and am looking forward to using them on my '67 Sports when it is finished.

They were, as Chris points out, very poorly (too tight!) adjusted with little grease from the factory: easily remedied in about 10 minutes if you have the right tools.

Every pair of MKS pedals I have gotten has been set too tight. I really like the touring pedals, I have them on most of my bikes.

Well, I just sat at the kitchen table (don't tell my wife) and overhauled the new pedals. I'll say one thing, they are not very big on grease in Japan. Anyways, they are even better now with plenty of good grease, and a perfect adjudtment (smoooooth as silk). Did I say I love these pedals?

These are on my list of "things I'd like to own".

If I ha to choose a single setup it'd be the MKS Touring pedals with clips, straps and flip tabs. That said, I got a set of Sakae SP-11s this weekend (obvious Lyotard Berthet copies, but aluminum). I friggin' love 'em! Easiest pedals to get in and out of that I've used.
