Getting ready to build up my 727tr; looked through my parts bin here and everything is here except for a zero stack headset; I even have a nothreadset in here! >.<

Anyways, I'm trying to keep this build cheap considering I got this frame for less than a benjamin; so are there any recommendations for a reasonably priced zero stack headset?

A friend of mine bought one not too long ago and he was looking for a cheapish headset.

FSA Orbit Z headset (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/20217-205_FSAOZ0-3-parts-63-headsets/FSA-Orbit-Z-Headset.htm) from PricePoint is one of the cheaper ones online.

Alright I guess I'll get the orbit Z.

Any suggestions for a cheap carbon fork? I'm totally not feeling putting a bladed ec90 or cromo fork on it.

I remember this fork popped up around here:
http://www.performancebike.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10052_10551_1032950_-1_56000_20000_56006

And is it just me or the price for leaders carbon track fork ridiculously overpriced?

Check Nashbar.

Leader's full-carbon fork is expensive but worth it, IMO.

To each his own but I've got one sitting before me and have to disagree.

Yeah, to each his own is right.

I'll let you have the final decision - you win. I just happen to not have one in front of me so I probably shouldn't judge. Just from the description online.

I'd like a woundup though.

The Performance fork is a rebranded Kinesis (well, not really, just a different layout on the carbon, it's still branded Kinesis). It's a well built fork, I don't think you should have any issues with it, especially given it's price.

Can I get some confirmation that this would work? Sorry, this is my actual first time buying a zero stack on its own.... :p

I would call Leader. Ritchey lists the WCS as a Zero Stack as well as a press-fit... from CK, they sound the same if you ask me:

This will work.

This headset is an internal headset, which simply means that the bearing cups and bearings that are supplied with the headset will be sitting on the inside of the frame, instead of the outside.

The integrated headset you are getting confused with, is really just bearings, as the cups are already part of the frame's head tube.

So, with some investigation.. The only headset that Leader offers for the 727 and 725, is the FSA ZS3 (carbon spacers) headset. FSA's ZS3 only comes as an internal (thus Zero Stack) headset. So, being said, I think it's a safe bet that you won't be needing any such integrated headset.
