Utility Cycling - Rim for a cargo bike wheel?

I need to get a new front wheel built for my Yuba Mundo. It has gone too long without a dynohub, and I'm going to be upgrading to disc brakes in the near future as well.

Since I want an Alfine dynohub in a 26", 36-spoke wheel, I'm pretty much stuck with a custom build.

I'm wondering what a good rim choice would be? Browsing the Sheldon Brown/Harris Cyclery web page (http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/rims/559.html), it sounds like the Sun Rhyno Lite would be a good choice. 36 spoke, heavy duty, wide for wide tire mounting.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or comments?

I have not a lot of experience with severe loading yet, but i like the design of the Salsa Gordo in 26" that I have on the Dummy.

Mavic EX 721 is a top quality rim .. welded joint, brake track machined .

Any reasonable rim will be fine. The front wheel isn't heavily loaded and even with a disc is almost symmetrical so it will be quite strong. You don't need to go nutty and get a super heavy duty rim for that application.

The Rhino Lite would be fine, but is also way more rim than you need.

Rhino Lite is probably the best bang for the buck. There may be stronger rims, but not many.

Sounds like the Rhyno Lite is a good choice given what I have readily available. It my be overkill, but it's also one of the less expensive options available. Seems like a win-win situation to me.

For my Big Dummy dynamo wheel build I used the Salsa Gordo. It is the same rim Surly used for the original wheel and I found that Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires are very easy to mount on it, unlike many other rims.

I'm on my 3rd set of wheels for the BD.
currently on a set of WTB LaserDisc DH 36h, laced 4 cross to XT hubs with AVID BB7's
I should have started on this wheelset, a set of Rhyno Lites lasted about a year, first on an XtraCycle convert job bolted to a Cdale F900, then a few months on the BD.

The Rhino Lite is fine for the price, but I'm finding it more underkill than overkill. They've been holding together OK for a few years on my cargo bike, but I would feel better with an even beefier rim; I have the feeling they don't have much time left on this earth (I have to keep retruing, and I'm waiting to find some cracks near the eyelets). Next time I want to try a 40-spoke wheel, at least for the back. I carry passengers and heavy loads a lot, and I think a pretty mongo wheel is called for. 48 spokes is probably ridiculous, though (and I'd get carpal tunnel syndrome building them up!).
