Bicycle Mechanics - Revised Campy Khamsin 2011 wheelset?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Looks like Campagnolo revised their Khamsin front wheel for 2011.
The rear retains their G3 lacing pattern but the front is now a 20 spoke radial pattern.
Sounds like this is now the best of both worlds for an entry level setup.
Any experience or thoughts about this new version?

Well Rolf has been doing this for about 12-15 years on stock production bicycles for Trek and Lemond. So Campy must think it is OK now.

can't say but I ride Khamsin's from 2008 I think and I weight 225 and they have been great. I think I slightly trued them once in about 3000 miles and I weigh a lot. Great wheels for the money.

Just another way to look different which makes it better. Right? For day to day riding there is nothing better than 32 or 36 spoked wheels.
I ride, on average, over 13k miles a year and my wheels last well over 60k miles. Because my area is flat I don't have a problem with brake wear on my rims otherwise I would need to occasionly replace the rims.
