Hello, my stem was recently stolen with my nitto albatross bars. It is a 1 1/8, 25.4, 100cm. You can see it on these bikes as well as many others for the past few years before the move to adjustable ones.

Yes I want it for aesthetics. (The adjustable ones are ugly and it messes the clean lines of my bike) However I also want it because I find it to work the best with my nitto albatros bars. Even though my clamp size on the adjustable 1 1/8 25.4 stems I have bought to try to replace the stolen one are the same as the nitto bars 25.4, the bars still seem to spin under pressure.

For example

I have tried carbon seat post compound, sandpaper, ect. Must be that beautiful nitto polish.

They still make the stem as I called Trek and Raleigh, however they wont sell it to me.

Anyone have one of these in their junk pile or now someone at raleigh or trek that I convince someone to sell me one.

thanks

Doesn't look quite the same, but should fit 1-1/8" forks

Thanks, ive seen that It would have been perfect. However the actual usable part of the stem height from the min insertion line is a little to short. its 50 mm or 2 inches. In my above post the 100mm is referring to height. Im not sure why nitto decided to cut these stems so short.

My supplier lists a quill riser stem with plenty of height. Length is 250mm. Extension is 80mm. Angle of extension not mentioned. Available in 25.4mm quill. Doesn't list bar diameter, so I assume it's 25.4mm. The drawback for the OP may be the construction and cosmetics. It's a black aluminum extension mated to a (chromed) steel quill. If the OP is interested, I'll post a pic to-night, after I get home and have access to a scanner.

Shim the handlebars and use the stem you have, as long as you're ok with the looks. You can cut a rectangular shim (or layer them) from a soda can, or buy a ready made shim. Suspect that ebikestop (internet) would have them for under $5.
