Saw this on ebay, the lugwork sure is pretty, and they are spirit tubing, pretty nice too. Anyone know anything about them?

Sure is beautiful but why in SSFG? It has vertical dropouts.

the backward sloping TT kinda kills it for me. But still very purty.. and pricey

Stunning. Even if it's in the wrong spot, thanks for this.

I think the OP was just asking if anyone had heard anything else about that framebuilder, not necessarily asking about that particular model.

Just wanted to know if anyone knew anything on the quality of framebuilder, and I post most often here so I wanted SSFG's opinion.

From what I can gather Slide Away isnt a custom builder so much as a custom painter. There is no where on the page that talks about custom geometries or sizes, just about custom colors and graphics.

In the bicycle world there seems to be three different accepted definitions of custom. First is all mass manufactured components and frame put together personally. Second is a massed produced frame with one off paint and graphics, and third is a one off frame with unique sizing and geometry. All three definitions make sense, and no one is really trying to cheat any one by using one rather than the other(including Republic), it just gets confusing.

In these days when you can get a generic black SS bike for $300... you can obviously get one with customized artwork and eye-popping details.

I'd go for it but it makes the bike too attractive to thieves. I prefer ugliness in a bike - the uglier the better so no one takes a fancy to it.

I think that you can get different sizes, I just like the chrome and the lugwork.
