Who are the players in bike distribution for the US? I am planning to attend Interbike next year, and would like to have a better understanding of the industry movers and shakers.

Thanks,

Movers and shakers in the bike business sound like defective products.

Now Wheelers and Dealers is more like it.

"Interbike is open to qualified bicycle retailers and resale distributors only. Registration for the 2011 Interbike Expo and OutDoor Demo is scheduled to open in April of 2011."

Qualified bicycle retailer or resale distributor currently?

They wouldn't let my kind in. (consumer cyclist)

It's a Trade show, first you need a job in the industry, or be a famous race winning cyclist.

Though looking good in a short skirt may get you a job in an Exhibitors Booth,
but Vegas has surplus of those
in the Union Hiring hall ..

Ditto here. I might be able to weasel my way in (I spent 12 years in the bicycle business before getting a real job and I have plenty of friends there still), but I'd have to pull in a favor or two to get in. It's a trade show: 30% of it is for dealer relations, 30% is for only interesting to the manufacturers, 30% is small-time marketers trying to sell through dealers, and 10% will never see the light of day after Interbike.

Thanks for the input.

I will work my local connections to get me into Interbike. I was going to set up a booth, but at $2300 it is not worth it at this time.
