Does anyone have experience with using oversized tires on rims? I've seen the chart on sheldon's site:
http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire_sizing.html
I have an 80s univega that has an original araya 700c rim on the front (only marking is a red sticker saying Araya 700c) and a replaced weinmann rear rim (marked something like 700c 18/23 ETRTO 622-14 etc).
They have 23mm tires now that need to be replaced and I'd like to move up in size since I'm not comfortable with the really thin tires on very potholed streets.
Based on the chart, since 14 is in between, I should probably be able to do 28 without issue, but does anyone have any experience running 32s or 35s on this size rim? Using 38s would be out of the question, right?
