Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Nice Old Bianchi

I picked up a really nice bianchi nuovo racing 12v. I say its from 1984 but I think it has a unique set of parts. Its a red frame with N.R campy derailleurs and a beautiful campy 175 strada crankset. Black Modolo "speedy" brakes are sorta cool but less functional..Overall its in good condition and o yea its got campy record hubs and mavic SUP reflex rims. Dura ace freewheel and a nice suede bianchi seat. Im stoked! But I was thinking that maybe the derailleurs and crankset are just too nice to ride. I have cheaper suntour superbe cranks and a replacement shimano derailleur I count use.. Would riding these Campy parts be as rewarding as they are worth? How much does their value diminish after use? and how long do they even last?

Campagnolo Nuovo Record components are very durable. They also retain a very high resale value, even when used. Having said that, the Superbe is very good too. The Shimano may be, depending on the model. From a performance standpoint it may even be better than the Campagnolo. But of you want admiring glances from the bicycle snobs, insteads of derisive snickers, you'd best keep the Campagnolo on the bicycle.

I agree with T-Mar, unless your going to ride a century everyday no reason to dump the Campi. as for your parts mix, Bianchi used lots of different mixes of components to hit various price points, often using one frame across several models.

your Ferrari Red does sound like an '84. please post some pics we seldom see great looking Bianchis in these non Celeste colors.
