Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Ok, I got this bike from a guy who traded it for rent he owed. I have really no idea of what it is or its value. He said it was a 1948 Schwinn, and that it was chromed. It also has a little generator for the headlight.
Any help in identifying it or pointing me in a direction of some forum or something that would be interested in this type of thing would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely not a Schwinn and not from 1948. I have no idea beyond that.

Thanks for the info. Any Ideas on what this style of bike is called if it has a name

Cruiser with a springer fork, I'd guess. If there are no decals or a headbadge, or serial numbers on this bike to help identify it, then it might be a home-built machine. If it's a one-off, then assessing a value is problematic. If I may offer some advice, next time someone offers you a possession in lieu of rent, ask that person to sell the item themselves and present you with the cash. There's probably a good reason why he didn't do that before.

Here's one that looks a lot like yours...

There are numerous web sites that sell lowrider and cruiser style bikes. This is just a cheap repop of an old cruiser or "Schwinn" style bike.
Value? $100.00?
