here is a link to the catalogue from 1984 of the bike (http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/guerciotti84(tsd)/4.jpg)

ok the guy is selling the frame, original campy headset, original fork, and original stem for 200$ including shipping. He is the original owner and the bike sat from '92 till '05 and since 05 he has had it set up as a single speed trainer. Bike is in great shape except for two spots. One spot the paint was bubbling so he sanded it down and put primer on it. Other spot he said was a tire rub that messed up the paint so he did the same sanded and primed it. He said he has worked at a bike shop for years and I saw were he is selling several thousand dollars worth of bikes and components every month so I am pretty sure the guy knows what he is talking about.

what do you guys think? 200$ seem fair? maybe even a deal?

the catalog is great I didn't realize a bike with that crappy Triomphe was $800+.

as for the bike your looking at, $200 sounds OK for a Sl frame but I would like to see it first. was this used as a S road trainer or on a indoor trainer? some bikes used indoors have real nasty rust so where the 'bubbling' was would be a real interest to me.

It was used as a get unfat trainer so I am guessing older guy bringing out his youth to get fit again around the neighborhood.

also the bubbling/sanding/priming occurred 5 years ago when he got it out of storage in the garage. He has ridden it since then.

The places to look for rust on indoor trainer bikes (in my experience) is under the top tube, and under the bottom bracket. The front top tube cable guide can also be an issue.

But otherwise, $200 may be OK, but depends on paint condition. If the stem is pantographed, then that makes it a much better deal.
